I think another point in favor of humans not existing in the PMD world is the fact that you are summoned in the first place. If there were humans around, why would the summoner need to grab a human from another world?

Another Ninetales option I could think of is that perhaps it can travel between the regular universe and PMD universe. This is completely headcanon, though, there's nothing that would imply that.

>that they existed at one point
I think it's undeniable that they existed at some point

This one is a sticking point, though. Unless he's immortal, you can't just have one human being around for so long. You need at least around a 1000 humans realistically, but let's say it's a children's game and they don't think about human genetics, it should still be at least a small village of humans, otherwise who are MC's parents, grandparents, etc?

That's why I think it makes more sense for him to be summoned into the future world. He could be partners with Grovyle in the same way RT's MC is partners with their partner. Alternatively, he's a time traveler from the past where humans existed, that wouldn't require a multiverse. Theoretically, he doesn't need to stop existing to disappear from the present, he just needs to not get summoned or not time travel in the new timeline.

Or perhaps he's also from the past and he was on ice somewhere for 10000 years until Grovyle/Celebi found him.
