Immersion is very subjective, but i think the answer is yes, anyone that knows what immersive gaming experience is supposed to be like will realize within minutes that Larian dont give a crap about immersion in their games, this applies to Divinity Original Sin as well.
What kind of immersion is it when you talk to a character and then during conversation you control others and do crazy wild things, and lets not forget the world that has no moving time schedule, its a fixed world, the turn-based button movement alone is enough proof that immersion is just not taken into consideration here.
BG3 is a Dungeons and Dragons simulation.

Immersive games for me is a game that makes me forget about it being a game and tries to absorb me into its world, in immersive games the world must be believable, and i as a player should be able to dismiss my disbelief and escape for few hours into it, you should feel like you are there at the moment.
Immersive games use 3 important things: sound design, visual design, sense of realism.

In games like Stalker, the game uses its spooky sounds to create a horror sense of dread where you are in danger and the mystery of the zone is closing in on you, it uses visuals to set the mood for you to escape to its world, and its sense of realism with the way A.I is designed and the way survival elements are implemented is supposed to depict real life scenarios.

Immersive games can be fictional like Dishonored, where it uses first person perspective to enhance immersion, environmental storytelling and a sense of realism into its world, there is no over the top whacky stuff going on, these kind of games just give you supernatural powers and thats it.
