This is one of the rare points where M*ngo and I agree: by and large, Campaign Trail mods are made either to shill for politicians or ideologies (Viva Kennedy, Red-Verse) or to denigrate them (W, American Carnage). They often portray characters acting outrageously out of character for the sake of plot convenience, entertainment, or some narrative theme—think H.W. Bush behaving like Logan Roy.

It’s not inherently bad. Swan Song, for instance, was obviously pro-Trump/Vance, but it effectively highlighted the various contradictions within his coalition: Musk and Vivek supporting H1B visas, the populist-versus-technocrat split on tariffs, the toxicity of the abortion abolitionist movement, and so on and so forth.
