Maybe. It does feel very formulaic in a not good way, the gameplay is way too one dimensional for a lot of C&Cs.

OpenRA for example feels better, but the meta just seems to devolve into spam infantry and rocket soldiers as meat shields to overwhelm your opponent, with a few special big units.

My other gripe is the economy feels very slow, there's always a lull in the early game where you're just sitting there waiting to expand your eco. Wasting units at that point feels like death for the long game.
