Forming Byzantium is so tedious too. And everybody fucks it up the first time they do it because nothing says the Ionian Islands are required to do it but if you don't control them you'll never get the event.
Beating the Ottomans isn't even hard, Russia and other GPs will gladly fuck them up for you.
