I want to dismiss this out of hand, but you might be onto something. I always thought it was weird that in the discord trauma dump leak Lulu lamented at how she has no friends, and that all the people who look like they're her friends only care about the status of NijiEN, tainted and diminished as it is.
The foreshadowing was there all along.
