You wanna hear a funny story about Phasmophobia? Until June 2025, the Phasmo devs didn't know how to selectively render only the rooms the player was inside (something Mario 64, the first ever 3D game, featured). They were rendering every object on the map at all times. This is why the game's performance was so weirdly shit despite how primitive its graphics are.
