Keyfable CAN work if it works with their personality and appliable to a certain degree of metaphors for stuff. Like for example, Matara using the whole exhusbands and "eating them" like a female praying mantis fits to explain her lore as a giant bug, but it is a good analogy to explain being on previous relationships which ended. Mouse also did something similar way back in which she referred to plasma as lava, thus the days she would get her plasma infusions, she said something like "eating lava", it fits since she was a demon. Or Zen with her TTS.
Obviously this confuses new viewers, but at the same time is something silly that can be said and adds a little bit to the audience

Clarified that her birthday was on the 20th, but she used to celebrated it on the 25th which confused people of which day it was.
