Your body and mind are linked. The vessel your brain is in is just as important as the brain itself. Anything that boosts the condition of your body will have positive effects in your brain too.
Also, it’s just good for your long term health. The better shape your body is in, the longer it stalls from falling into disrepair when you can’t continue training to, whether that be old age, illness, or a broken bone.
If you enjoy food that isn’t so good for you, lifting and especially core work will help burn that off; allowing you to “get away with it” way more often than diet alone will.
