That’s a pretty weak reason. A lot of indie fans want their vtubers to stay independent because it gives them a sense of control. It’s a lot easier to manipulate talents who lack financial stability and don’t have a company backing them.
And they always out themselves, always pointing out that one of the 'benefits' of following indie vtubers is that their messages actually get read, since not many people are watching.
