As a fellow sufferer, two things:
Identify the foods that really do it. Cut that shit out. People have mentioned coffee, but you can still do coffee but switch to dark roasts and or cold brew. The reason is that darker roasts promote the development of a particular chemical that bind receptors in your stomach to limit acid production. Cold brew extracts more of this chemical from beans regardless of roast.
Secondly, take famotidine (generic pepcid) regularly even if you don't have acid reflux at the time. Start with the 10mg ones and take one every 12 hours. It will prevent any massive build up of acid at any point in the day. Keep taking it even if it doesn't feel like it's helping at first. Shit has to build up in your system like any daily medicination.
Both these things have helped me. The latter medicine recommendation came from my doctor.
