Because it wasn't charity it was directly to megu. If I remember right it was to fund her new model and other stuff because when she parted with her old corpo they kept it. If they aren't just being a schizo I assume they are saying that megu leaving was the grift if people donated a ton to her career only for her to disappear into the sun. She did come back like 3 months ago randomly so idk
