I can safely say that firsthand experience around them that these people are NOT otaku. They show little appreciation for the medium. All they want is to use VTubers as an excuse to behave like a shitbag and forcing them to all live by a moral code that would look like it was composed by a weird little gay kid living in his parents' basement.
Me personally, I'm in no way happy at Nimi myself. She may have impacted Saba's and Dooby's trajectories because of association. Nobody wins but her and those that don't know any better. It sucks. It just sucks.
