If what that person is saying is true, those two claims are about different things (romantic interest vs. sexual interest). You can be someone who only enjoys being romantically involved with adult women but your favorite sex is with preteen boys. Unless their thing is being completely shut-off from society and human sensation, most asexuals do not claim to be aromantic. They would happily have romantic partners, they just don't actively want to have sex with them.
