I've been to Japan a bunch of times for both business and personal reasons. Why is this so unbelievable? I lived in China for months with a girl I met on my first day there too, and used to gym every morning with Australia's PM - I'm sure anyone with above 85 IQ and a life has a million such stories.

There's a difference between caring what people think and having a room full of weirdos openly staring at you for 25mins straight. If any of them were friendly I'd have probably bought them an overpriced beer and let them join us.
