I walked to the store to get cigarettes and this girl politely said good morning to me when I passed her and after a 2 second pause I blurted out "g-good morning!"
I still have city mentality where if you say hello to someone 9/10 times they won't reply so I stopped being nice but that was a breath of fresh air.
No I'm not starved for sociality, only manners.
