If we're engaging in this conversation... I grew up with an abusive parent and eventually that abuse was getting channeled down to my brother through me. I spent decades just not thinking about this stuff, then I started dealing with it a couple years ago and I've mostly dealt with forgiving my parent and getting over that but I'm still struggling with what I was like towards my brother as a result of that stuff. We haven't talked in years so it's pretty difficult to try and resolve any of that with him or myself at the moment.

My brother was mentally abused by my aunt who babysat him and he adopted that abusiveness and I was the recipricant of it. It's very true that the abused become abusers and it's a sad thing. Broken homes create broken children.
