this is a story from 1500 years ago.
there was a high mountain called Esfores near Aomori. It was so tall that it only ever snowed there, and it was always covered in clouds.
but one day, a man saw that his village was being cursed, people were becoming rude, awful, horrible. They were being invaded by evil spirits, the youkai. They were dying.
the man had a destiny in mind: saving his village. And he knew how.
he climbed up the mountain, not for minutes, not even hours, but for five days, carrying only some water and raw fish. Upon reaching the peak of the mountain (over 5000 meters high), he noticed the clouds had formed a strange message: dubs.
The man thought it might be a message from a spirit. He decided to build a temple to dubs using materials near the mountain. He searched for wood and gold to craft a bell.
in the end, there it was: the Dubs Temple. The man rang the bell, and the entire village shook like in an earthquake. Suddenly, everyone began to feel good. It was a miracle.
