On the one hand I'd be kinda pissed, but on the other hand relieved.

A similar thing happened to me.

I was working in a kitchen and had the night and the following day off, so I got high as fuck (like special occasion high), a couple of hours before night shift, this lady I work with calls me and asks me to cover her, because her husband's mother just died.
I was like fuck that, but I couldn't outright refuse. I ended up telling her I was out of town at the moment, but if she really needed it, I could get in an hour before closing but she needed to tell me asap.
She said she'd try someone else and let me know.

Ended up not calling me back, so I spent the rest of the night and the day after laying in bed getting blitzed out of my mind.

Later I found out she lied about her husband's mother and just wanted to stay home drinking.

I havent had a wagie job since I was like 15 and I could never do people are so lame. I was a security guard from 2016-2022 and the only issue I had were "you know what's" but oddly they didn't bother me. Working with drama, sniping people and all that shit is alien.

I'm not mad but something my grandfather told me "never make a promise you can't keep" extends to "don't tell me shit then don't do it"
