I think of it as a modern interpretation of Taoism, there is more effort in not breathing as it is with many activities.
The point isn't to dogmatically avoid any and all activity.

You know that thing when someone asks what you're doing and you say "nothing" even though you were like watching stuff on youtube or playing a game, it's kind of like that.
It takes more effort to hold your breath and sit perfectly sill than to actually relax.
