I saw this court drama youtube video where the father of a murdered kid forgave the murderer in court and even gave him a hug and it sickened me. There have been cases where someone forgave a killer of their loved ones, and then the killer killed them too.

I don't know all the bible but I distinctly recall some incidents where god did not seem merciful at all. And if you are talking about allah, then I could say that there are a few of his followers who seem quite unmerciful in his name. Are palestinians forgiving the Israelis? Should I "not look back in anger" if my daughter was exploded at an Ariana Grande concert?

Its considered merciful to put down a suffering animal. I could argue that it is mercy to the parents of murdered children to remove the murderer from this world, to put them down like an animal.

So if someone murders a family member and that family decided ye just execute the murderer then it is fine itself because that is justice under the court.

Not everyone is going to be the same, sometimes they repent and sometimes they are evil by choice.

At judgement day everyone will be judged accordingly in an equal manner. Anyone who wronged will meet the person in question and talk it out. Good deed and sin will be tipped on the scale to determine your ending.
