It simply can't do it, if anything this normally hidden greater picture provided by 4chan has made me more connected than ever to my empathy. Nice dubs btw.

No, I would say you'd have to be a bit of a "psycho" to stay here and not be repulsed by so much mental illness in any given era of 4chan. You just having that more formalized as an ideology is probably just age in general. You tend to just naturally accumulate things that support your existing biases until it seems like a philosophy. I think being here has made me less judgmental of the right wing kind of beliefs but I can't say I've ever been much of a humanitarian just anti authoritarian. When humanitarian efforts line up with that I'm probably on their side like pre2008 but when they don't I'm not

this website did the opposite to me. it fully radicalized me against right-wingers. I first started posting in 2009 and was a center-left quasi-libertarian free speech warrior with thousands of posts on other sites like lesswrong defending the philosophical virtues of free speech. first gamergate happened, which I fell into but dehypnotized myself out of weeks later. then ever-worsening conspiracism, trumpism, and national socialism made me realize free speech was a complete joke starting around 2018

I did a total 180 and became a major anti-free speech advocate and champion of explicit censorship. my political views remain center-left but I went from seeing rightists as human, mistaken interlocutors to non-human cancers on modern civilization and human flourishing. I used to watch joe rogan daily and now can't tolerate a moment of his intellectual poverty no matter the guest

twitter was 100% in the right to censor covid/vaccine mis/disinfo. rightists were correctly placed into alt-tech ghettos. the only problem with censors is they're too afraid to be based and proudly champion the merit of censorship, curation, and culling of diseased elements from one's culture. if you believe the MMR vaccine causes autism you have no right to be at the grown-ups' table and should have your psychotic breakdowns confined to a dilapidated twitter clone run by a linen mogul

then again I also became completely radicalized against leftists because most of them are stupid populist conspiracist freaks too. but then I also hate elitists like yarvin and thiel. only guy I kind of like is ezra klein pretty much, who balances elitism and populism and promulgates structuralism over conspiracism

really my whole philosophy can be summed up as despising conspiracy theorists. I believe conspiracism will likely hasten or cause the early death of the united states. I consider belief in even a single conspiracy theory a justification to make one a pariah

I believe not a single conspiracy theory is true or even plausible, with maybe 2 or 3 that are like "fine I won't hate you for holding a p < .6 belief in this one"

I believe basically the only relevant alignment chart is conspiracists vs. establishmentists, with a separate axis for psychopaths vs. empaths (for example, there is a minuscule handful of far-rightists who aren't conspiracists and are somewhat intelligent and just arrived at their position through psychopathy)

MAGA is conspiracist psychopathic. campism is conspiracist empathic. cato institute and bryan caplan are establishmentist psychopathic. ezra klein is establishmentist empathic

wait holy shit I did not even know ezra klein was also the creator of JournoList and literally did what I recommended above by pure coincidence. I've been a fan of him for years but only saw this just now. JournoList was also one of the main things that incited Gamergate. it's really all connected

how can one man be so consistently based

>In February 2007, Klein created a Google Groups forum called "JournoList" for discussing politics and the news media. The forum's membership was controlled by Klein and limited to "several hundred left-leaning bloggers, political reporters, magazine writers, policy wonks and academics."

>Klein had justified excluding conservative Republicans from participation as "not about fostering ideology but preventing a collapse into flame war. The emphasis is on empiricism, not ideology."

in some years you will realize I was right all along

I just use 4chan because anonymity is the superior paradigm. it's unfortunate that it selects for conspiracists and other sorts of fringe belief-holders. though conspiracism is so mainstream now that there's no need for this place as a refuge anymore

I've been on this beat for many years (I used to sell "Epstein killed himself" t-shirts but people probably thought they were ironic) but youtuber contrapoints did an excellent video on conspiracism recently as well

https://youtu.be/teqkK0RLNkI

she's good at the "there are a billion obvious entry-level takes on this topic but here's the synthesis and psychoanalysis" genre

honestly I would guess she probably agrees with most everything I wrote in this thread (at the least, she's liked several of my tweets where I've described the best ways to psyop conspiracists by turning their faulty reasoning towards conspiracism itself and using strategic gaslighting, and I don't think she's a courtesy-liker)

I am not trolling here. we are in a civilizational battle between conspiracists and the rest. national socialists and marxist-leninists are the evil's most salient face but the rot is far deeper

>People just love falling into the trap of 'righteous anger' and the little witch hunts it fosters.
admittedly that's precisely what happened to me with gamergate initially. that's why my opposition is a type of reasoning, not a group or a person. it's a witch in the brain and one that's not wrong to immolate and wrong not to immolate

dude come on do a little better than that xD i doubt the contrapoints person would agree with this even it would be crazy work to be so left leaning and reasonably learned but still missing mainstream consensus that conspiracies happen and people have correctly theorised them before exposure especially given the amount of stuff around say the reagan administration

i define a conspiracy theory as anything that grows in prominence as a hypothesis/accusation despite persistent and consistent mainstream media dismissal or ignoring one year after the origin

anything that first (or not long after) breaks in a major paper is a conspiracy, not a conspiracy theory

iran-contra was a media-first exposure

"CIA helped distribute crack in black communities" was an offshoot of that which was and is a conspiracy theory, not a conspiracy

DNC and podesta email breach and leak by russian intelligence was a conspiracy. pizzagate (paranoid schizophrenic interpretations of podesta's emails) was a conspiracy theory

what reagan administration incident do you believe can be classified as a later-proven conspiracy theory?
