what pre-packaged pasta sauce do you like? I want to just dump it on and it taste good but they are all too sugary and not really savory I feel like I am in a dilemma

Make your own. It's very easy, buy small tomatoes, in a pan of olive oil add some chopped garlic but be careful not to burn it, then add your tomatoes. You can chop them in half if you so wish but you don't have to. You just fry them until they're bursting then add to pasta.

A trick I like to do is add some lemon juice to the storebought sauce if that's what I'm using. But >>12405313 the frogposter is right, it's easy to make it homemade yourself and then you get to smell the sauteing garlic which is pretty much the greatest potential of human experience

Oh and I forgot the most important thing, add some fresh basil at the end!

Why not? If you're adding a lot of wet stuff to make a sauce like tomatoes you should be able to do the garlic first and then the liquid will keep them from burning, if you were just stir frying a bunch of veggies dry I'd agree garlic should go in later to prevent burning.

Im tired and getting things mixed up of course it would make sense even crushed Im usually frying chopped up bacon first and adding garlic as i take it off the heat to let it set a bit, then come the chopped tomatoes so the garlic would be first if it werent for the bacon.

Id imagine it would take at least slightly longer straightforwardly cutting tomatoes and putting them in the pan instead of dumping in some tin of ‘chopped tomatoes’ that is already basically sauce THOUGH
