Back when a TV was more than just a colourful protrusion on a wall, when it was an OBJECT that commanded respect.

As the device on which we consume moving pictures has shrunk so has the value which we attach to moving pictures shrunk. The TV shied away, it took a step a back and made itself small, as if to say don't look at me.

Japanese woman tend to be around 5'
Not 3'

i had a thirty something inch widescreen one and I had to carry it myself, it was heavy as shit. Must have weighed as much as a fridge just more compact.

I think this is one of the more fun facts, and probably the biggest under appreciated CRT fact.
