there is a spider on my room. i cant just kill it because its on the ceiling and swatting it would make too much noise as i live in an apartment in muttmerica (the walls and ceilings here are all built out of paper and fake cheap wood) and the guy living upstairs would complain seeing as its 2am and it would likely wake him up. i cant kill it silently because its one of those fast spiders meaning i need to swap it fast which would make a lot of noise. i cant wait for it to get t a side wall because its been 2 hours & 30 minutes and i cant wait all night (i have to sleep). what do? no, i don't have anything to spray it with. also i cant just ignore it because its moving around a lot and i dont want it crawling on me as i sleep.

off-topic but after living in apartments for decades I finally moved into a small standalone house by myself (renting). it's so freeing to not have connected neighbors. I had to pay above my budget max but it was so incredibly worth it

i wish i could do that. i hate knowing my neighbors can hear ANY sound i make at all times. any conversation i have with visitors no matter how quiet we speak can be heard at full volume by my side neighbors and top neighbor. also anyone in the hallway can hear us. this is so weird. feels like im living in a shack without walls with 3 other families.

yeah when scoping out potential new apartments I carefully tested for all those noise things and then realized I might as well just try to get a house. I'd take the tiniest possible quiet house over the biggest and most luxurious noise-leaking apartment even if I had no money to spare each month

I don't know your situation but it can't hurt to look at nearby houses for rent on the various apps

just swat it down with a sock, then flatten it with a shoe

I killed it. It put up a good fight. I left the room to get my empty spray bottle that I planned on filling with isopropyl alcohol then spray it which would've killed it instantly but it ran behind my desk when I returned (it must've knew i was watching and knew when I left the room). Took me i while to find him then I just smushed it with a shoe. I can finally sleep now!

i almost never kill any insects i transport them either to a different location in my place or i take them outside

i don't even kill mosquitoes or cockroaches. i believe there is a decent chance many or most insect species are sentient and have subjective experiences and inner lives. the jains were right but only by accident

How would you move a spider that's really small (about half an inch) and moves really fast?

insects don't have DMT or REM sleep so it's unlikely

birds though (very important)
