I think the scariest thing about church is that they prey on the destitute, the implication that you will be saved if you just give yourself to the Lord. Also it's anecdotal but the mission I was at, most of the workers were ex junkies or felons who talk down to and put on a facade but that same nigger meanness came out whenever they were challenged.

I think truly religious people worship either alone, in secret or with a secular group.
