I have a crystalline mix of mostly tanins and caffeine I want to remove the caffeine from. The procedure I see online for extracting caffeine involves dichloromethane solvent and sodium carbonate which does not work for me since I want to ingest the product and keep the tanins intact, what else could I do to separate out the caffeine?
