Who was the better scientist and who contributed more? AC or DC? Tesla coils or incandescent light bulbs?

That’s very true for Edison, whose company executed an elephant to demonise AC.

no, I mean edison received hell when he was was trying to revolutionise the energy sector in the face of established industries.
he then turned that hell on Tesla whe he tried coming up.
Edison was a crazy kid working out the back of train workshops making signaling equipment or something.

I learned all about these people online and from NPR.
Edison was evil and republican.
He murdered animals with electricity for fun.
Tesla was a democrat and an undocumented migrant who invented AC and would have given us free energy if Edison had not stopped him.
Edison owed Tesla a million dollars and refused to pay him.
Edison never invented anything. He employed Black inventors and paid them next to nothing, but took credit for all their inventions.
Every good person hates Edison and loves Tesla.
If you don't hate Edison, you are on the wrong side of history and are an enemy of progress.

Like comparing frogs with arabian horses. Edison was not a scientist. Tesla was a genius.

Calling Edison a scientist and inventor is the same as saying that Elon Musk invented the electric car

Didn’t Edison take some courses at University? I get he’s not a real scientist in the sense he wasn’t trained in a science community.

edison was an unstoppable tinkerer and inventor though? Even in old age he was messing around.

I wish someone would talk about other great engineers in the field instead of just edison and tesla.

Doesn't anyone know about Philo Farnsworth, or Joseph Swann or anyone?

It's the kind of BS I always hear whenever Edison and Tesla are mentioned, so I thought I'd go ahead and summarize it for them to save time.
Not a single one of those claims I made is true (both men changed parties more than once, and Tesla studied the topic of AC electricity in college), but it will still resonate with the I-hate-Edison lemmings because objective reality has no value to them.

Most people couldn’t pass senior high school, let alone get an A in mathematics for their final year. You’re part of a minority for being college educated or interested in science. I bet you’re probably in the 90th percentile of intelligence if you can graduate in a STEM degree.

DC is inherently superior. The only reason we couldn't use it back then was that you couldn't step voltage up and down easily.
But I'm working to change that. In the future the world will be run by DC.

Pop culture is very trend driven. When I was a child, I heard about Edison all the time but the only reason why I knew Tesla existed was because there was a statue of him hidden in a shady corner of the park next to the American side of Niagara Falls.
Tesla was not a household name. He was mostly forgotten by everyone except those who worked in electronics fields that used the Tesla unit of measure. Today he is worshiped by pop culture, while Edison's image has suffered dramatically.

Having a larger than life personality does help sell the public on a pop culture figure but there still needs to be something there at the core.

Considering some absolute bellends went and banned incandescent, you apparently have your retarded ass answer.
It's both. The mention of the ban was bait.
