Daily reminder (for no particular reason) that MIT Physicist Theodore Postol was right about intercepting ballistic missiles with AD interceptors being a fool's errand.
Much more difficult when its hypersonics + drone waves at the same time. The question is when they'll exhaust their supplies. This looks like a lose/lose war. Hope they see reason and de-escalate soon.
>>16702637 Frankly all of the engineering tests for these systems were under highly optimistic conditions and as such they weren't meaningfully approximating real life.
>>16702575 Really even non-hypersonic ballistic missiles are hard to hit with interceptors
>>16703867 The short answer is that there really isn't anything that's going to achieve a high interception rate, unless you're going to risk it with using ABMs with nuclear warheads like the soviets did in the late 80s.

>>16703867 the iron beam system seems promising >>16702681 iron dome have 90% success rate with smaller missiles which is it's main target anyway
>>16704949 >iron dome have 90% success rate This is horseshit, epically since this is what the IDF started claiming after they started to implement a Ukraine style censorship regime regarding airstrikes.
