I started this year too. Are you having fun? Its not that bad once you get into it. I thought you had to use an IDE and set up projects for everything. But, it turns out you don't have to do that.

The amazing thing is that no one tries to refute op. Not because he's obviously wrong and I wrote tons of code in java that as far as I know still runs on giant super computers. It's because no one cares at this point to be an expert.

Really? I tried Java for a bit but I felt like the whole point was doing GUI applications on shitty IDEs. After that I heard that it was big in the data sector, but didn't pay it much mind. I think it was something about the frameworks it had, Spark and the like.
