We went from fucking around with fabric gliders to walking on the moon in 66 years. The concepts Space X is talking about aren’t all that far removed from classic science fiction.

I mean if brownoids destroy us the Chinese will just figure it out instead. Hell even the Arabs are starting to do cool shit up there. I think space is starting to become accessible to retarded thirdies just like traditional aviation eventually did.

Depends on how fast we decide to incorporate space into our society, if we decided tomorrow to pour trillions into space development we could probably build massive nuclear powered spacecraft to toodle around the solar system, but the investment isn't there since for now all anyone wants to do is take some pictures and do science so there is only enough money for probes to do that.

Agreed. I feel like most of the technology already exists it’s just a cost issue. I bet Gen Alpha will live to see the first of the true sci-fi ships actually being built. Obviously no one knows if FTL will ever be possible but I have a feeling we’ll figure it out eventually. We’re just waiting on the next Einstein or Newton to come along and have that breakthrough.

No matter how much your emotions fucking love science, physical reality doesn't bend to your dreams. You are an example of why things won't progress due to a preference for desire over rigor.

I understand but there comes a point when technology filters down to brownoids. Just like there are random nogs in Africa who can build a car from scratch. They can reverse engineer shit with enough information being available to them. Space ships will eventually reach that point. Some Nigerian will steal a Chinese ship and build his own shitty nig nog version of it. My point though is that space travel is becoming more common place even for shitholes. It seem like true star cruisers are only a matter of time now.

Those are not possible, so we are infinity far from it ^_^

A more interesting question would be how far we are from building Zubrin's nuclear salt water rocket.

We are on the cusp of fusion reactors, so next gen ships should be rather interesting for travelling to Mars.

Until we can do artificial gravity, ships like the Enterprise will stay in fiction.

Well let's see:
This century: absolutely impossible
2100s: I assume orbital shipyards will be possible with unknown feasibility. But spaceships will still look a bit like Starship or generic spacecraft.
2200s: I assume we will have enough orbital ship construction expertise and infrastructure by now for this to be the optimistic timeline
2300s: pessimistic timeline.

Of course we will never have FTL ships, I am speaking logistics.

Whites are a lost cause. The Chinese and the Israelis recognize this.
The Chinese, bless their conniving little hearts, are actively enticing skilled Western techs and academics to settle in China. They know that within the next 100 years the West will have about as much relevance as Roman ruins. So they are going to create their own little Western protectorates inside China, where Western innovation and creativity can be kept snug, nice and safe and sound, lol.
Quite honestly what they offer makes it seem quite appealing considering the way most Western cities are turning into either Mumbai, Chicago or São Paulo.
Space will be a Chinese domain, not a European one. Suck on it white pig dogs.

This doesn't make any sense. Flying or nuclear fission are not against the laws of physics or economics. They are viable, profitable.
"Star cruising" though? That doesn't make sense from neither perspective. Not now and not in one hundred thousand years from now.

Before nuclear fission was discovered there was no real way to stoke a nuclear chain reaction, so nuclear power would have seemed like a dream. There may be something like that for "star cruising" that has just been yet to be discovered.

The key hurdle would be FTL.

At our current rate of progress, we'll be lucky if we can develop the inner Solar System by 2300.
