We've already created life by copypasting virus. All we need to create artificial consciousness is copy paste the mechancism which creates consciousness, tho, we don't need to replicate the whole man, for that's useless. Also, it's a far more difficult issue, because we don't know how the virus actually works, we just know how to copy paste it, and since consciousness is a complicated computer, all we really need is the blueprint to make it, it's an issue of engineering. Obviously we don't have a good blueprint yet, but are there any close diagrams? Obviously we must define what it is. I'd say it's input, computation, output, with mechanisms to survive and evolve, same as a virus, though on a grander scale, and I'd call self awareness merely awareness, simply of abstract objects such as concepts and ideas. So to create artificial conscious God, it would have to have a reason to live and sustain itself... Men who are happy atheists continue to live for sex, food, family, etc, dopamine... Anyways, I'm rambling, the point is what are ideas for the diagram? I guess a computer virus is almost similar, though it can't do the grand things we want. In the end, whether it's consciouss or not, we want a program which survives, grows, and can surpass humans in ability and creation.
