>build 10 billion dollar telescope
>get results
>have to pay hundreds of billions for salaries/healthcare/retirement of researches and academics to cope and seethe for 5 years of politics before the evidence kicks out the old guard and another 5 for new theories to be worked on
>...
>build new telescope for another 10 billion
>everything they did was retarded and wrong
>another decade of useless politics and speculation
>cycle repeats ad infinitum.

Why nots just fire 98% of the astrophysics department and build a bigger telescope? or at least put the money towards materials research to make that possible.

With all the dark energy/matter nonsense, I find it hard to believe it's not a sympathetic jobs program for spergs and autists.

how to build 10 billion dollar telescope?
what's the material needed and why is it so expensive?

You didn't explain your point well. If you're saying that $10 billion telescopes aren't good because they always cost $10 billion, then you're ignoring the incredible progress made in semiconductor manufacturing for progressively better images. In this way the JWST and Roman telescopes are very important, and the next one will also be important and cost approximately the same amount of money.

>I find it hard to believe it's not a sympathetic jobs program for spergs and autists.

alright go live without GPS or cellphones which use this technology extensively to orient their sat network. Shut up or put down your phone.

There is no way to miniaturize a telescope. If you want more detailed images you must capture more light, which means you must have a larger mirror. Very quickly the size becomes cost prohibitive.
On top of that, you need to get the thing into space so it can view without atmospheric distortion.

I think we should just throw out all of our stupid hypotheses, admit we know nothing, and stop trying to explain anything that happens outside the solar system.

>anyone I perceive as smarter than me is a sperg and autist

Is this why you are an anti-intellectual? Sour grapes?

>Theoretical physics is all nonsense why do we do research?

You would not have functioning electronics without it.

It is like you want a new dark ages. You want things to be bad and to live in darkness and stagnation.

You don't have to do science, talk about science, read about science, browse a forum about science. You do not even need literacy to survive and live your life to the grave. This is the only board I still use because it does not have images of immodest women and I like science. The technology board is full of creeps and they do not discuss higher level math and computer science. The politics board is full of haram images and the weapons board won't let me speak freely. This is the last board I use but I need to quit this site.

Politically speaking, apologies in advance, the average person simply cannot understand how knowledge about things so far away can benefit them.

The education system was mostly replaced by entertainment media, which is simply profit driven, and there is no money in explaining things that only neurodivergent geniuses will be remotely interested.

You must realize anon, someone of your capacities, who also has free time, who also lives in a free society, who also speaks English, is more rare than people realize.

Anon, intelligent people believe that everyone has a similar life experience or perspective as their own. >Stupid people think that everyone is just as smart as they think they are.

It really is that simple. Humanity is doing stupid things because most of humanity is stupid.
