Prologue: Orbital Era (O.E.)

After centuries marred by endless conflicts, environmental crises, and socioeconomic turmoil, humanity finally ascended, taking the monumental step toward becoming a Type I civilization. United under a common goal to harness Earth's total energy potential, global governments embarked on unprecedented projects to establish a sustainable space-based economy. Colonies blossomed on the Moon and flourished throughout Earth's orbit, forming intricate networks around the stable Lagrangian points. With the dawn of a unified planetary identity, national borders dissolved, replaced by economic zones governed from humanity's new capital: the Lunar city of Von Braun.

Thus ended the Anno Domini era, giving rise to the Orbital Era (O.E.). The Lunar Republic emerged as a beacon of hope, a democratic federation representing Earth's various economic zones. Yet beneath the Republic's enlightened façade lurked the shadows of corporate influence. Powerful space-based conglomerates quickly entrenched themselves in governance, steering the Republic toward policies favoring corporate interests over common welfare. Democracy steadily gave way to oligarchy, subtly shifting control into the hands of influential industries and elite oligarchs whose loyalties lay with the Earth sphere alone.

Far from Earth's oversight, another civilization had quietly taken root. Mars, once the red wasteland of human ambition, was terraformed into a self-sustaining cradle by followers of the late visionary Elon Musk. Named ELON in his honor, the Martian nation thrived independently, bolstered by the physical separation and autonomy granted by the vast emptiness of interplanetary space. Over generations, ELON expanded beyond Mars, planting seeds of humanity's future throughout the outer solar system and giving rise to diverse, autonomous communities orbiting Jupiter, Saturn, and the asteroid belt.

Yet autonomy bred division. The Lunar Republic, asserting jurisdiction over all human settlements in the solar system, viewed outer colonies as economic satellites meant to serve Earth's insatiable appetite for growth and energy. Oppressive regulations, military intimidation, and economic exploitation by Lunar authorities nurtured resentment, alienation, and an enduring sense of injustice among the distant colonies. An invisible line divided humanity between the privileged inner solar system, encompassing Earth and the Moon, and the marginalized, oppressed outer solar system inhabitants.

Tensions simmered, then boiled over into outright hostility when the Lunar Republic unveiled its grand ambition: constructing a Dyson Sphere to transition humanity into a Type II civilization. Such an undertaking threatened to further consolidate the Republic's power, economically isolating and politically marginalizing outer colonies, effectively stunting their growth and relegating them to permanent dependency. To the outer solar system, this project represented an existential threat—a stark ultimatum challenging their autonomy and survival.

Galvanized by fear and defiance, the charismatic but enigmatic Mad Jovian Prince unified ELON, Saturnine colonies, and fiercely independent asteroid nations into a formidable alliance—the Open Rebellion. Hostilities erupted with devastating efficiency as elite Jovian Black Death Troopers descended upon the Earth sphere, strategically targeting orbital habitats at Lagrange 4. Twenty O'Neill-type colonies were de-orbited in coordinated strikes—eleven crashing into Earth and nine into the Moon. Although strategic Lunar Republic infrastructure largely withstood the attack, the collateral devastation was immense. On Earth, billions perished in a global cataclysm that triggered nuclear winter, mass famine, and societal collapse. Lunar cities, too, suffered grievous losses, with millions lost in the impacts and subsequent breakdown of essential life-support systems.

The Rise of Saints

In the closing decades of Anno Domini, escalating wars, famine, and catastrophic climate events set the stage for a desperate humanity. Global hegemons engaged in geo-political disputes, birthing increasingly destructive conflicts that pushed warfare beyond conventional boundaries. Electronic, drone, and AI warfare evolved, yielding a terrifying innovation: the weaponization of the soul's sentience.

Scientific breakthroughs in Integrated Information Theory revealed that sentience itself was deeply embedded in the quantum fabric of reality, giving rise to a new form of energy—quantifiable, manipulable, and immensely powerful. This led to the creation of artificially synthesized and cybernetically enhanced beings capable of Quantum-Neuromancy. These beings harnessed clairvoyance, telepathic communication, and could even manipulate quantum fields through observation alone, collapsing quantum waves into defined states.

These enhanced individuals could disrupt AI, corrupt guidance systems, and render traditional radar obsolete. Their consciousness transcended ordinary senses, perceiving kinetic motion as sound and intent as visible light.

These elite warriors became known as... The Saints.

The Orders of Saints were not born from peace, but from crisis—each faction sculpting its own vision of perfection from the quantum clay of the human soul. As the wars escalated and the Saints became key instruments of strategy and survival, they were divided not just by allegiance, but by philosophy.

The Saints of Diana, loyal to the Lunar Republic, believed in strategic harmony and controlled balance—power regulated by law, hierarchy, and unwavering discipline.

The Saints of Jovian served as avatars of ruthless force under the Mad Prince, forged in Jupiter's brutal radiation fields and baptized in blood. To them, survival was the highest truth.

The Saints of Ares, born of ELON and Martian independence, were pioneers of adaptability and will—brilliant, unpredictable, and fiercely free.

And in the shadowed edges of the system, the Saints of Monad quietly studied the lattice of the universe itself, cultivating their minds as bridges between time, light, and thought.

Too focused on boring lore worldbuilding tries too hard to be W40k. You haven't said a word about who the characters are and what they do. Also, I hate to say it, but it's probably AI-generated too. If your prologue is an imaginary chronicle of events irrelevant to the actual plot nobody's going to care. Nothing is said about Venus and Mercury too.

Heh, the quantum psykers ... might still make for a good story device if properly outlined. Abilities, limitations, rather not have it turn into "lol it is magic". Otherwise, would change the Dyson sphere into a Dyson swarm (would allow the inner system to decide who gets sunlight and who does not). Venus ... some research station and an endless fruitless debate how and if it shoul be terraformed or not.
