You have egotistic professors who value you less than the fucking coffee machine, and you are made to work from dawn till dusk and then some, and he will add his name to your paper by doing nothing. During PhD, there are almost no agency in choosing your research direction in most places.

So, it's a fuck life save for a lucky few.

You will be late to a decent income, finding a woman, you will be pot bellied with thin hair and YOU WILL SPEND ZERO HOURS working in your passion problem.

I started with a bad paying chem job. I worked hard at it and got to really enjoy it. A coworker noticed this about me. When this job disappeared from the company failing, I got another far better role on his word. I got lucky but it's still possible. You need to network to get anywhere.
