Hmm, that could be useful. Temporary gene suppression sure sounds useful in some scenarios. Also sure more reliable and less risky than trying to modify the DNA itself. Now you only need a reliable delivery vector and make sure intracellular immunity mechanisms do take no objection with the machinery ... immune system could recognize it too and mistake it for a viral disease.
