Maybe, but gasoline can use the atmosphere as its electron acceptor so most of the mass you get for "free" from the air, and it gets blasted out the exhaust pipe so you lose mass as you burn the fuel which is also an advantage. Of course, the low efficiency of heat engines leaves a lot of room for battery electric to make up for its lack of those advantages.
