I live in the mountains out west, and I often see a single cloud of vapor rising up from a single tree on a rainy day (as opposed to this image, which is clearly steaming due to sunlight).
Why does this happen all at once on an individual tree?
Is it like when you tap a very cold glass and the entire thing freezes? All the moisture on a tree just vaporizes in a chain reaction?
