if a UFO touched down on the White House lawn, just sat there for a week, and then flew away never to be seen again, what would the scientific consensus be on what had just happened?

Depends what it looked like I suppose.

lets say for the sake of argument that everyone sees something different

The consensus would be: a UFO touched down on the White House lawn, just sat there for a week, and then flew away never to be seen again.

what even is this thread

Then I guess there wouldn't be a consensus if everyone saw something different.

The view would get blocked so fast...
The consensus would be that White House staffers were updating security and that's why the view had to be blocked. Any vids of the craft landing or ascending would be deemed hoaxes and become impossible to find among a sea of fakes.

Depends on what it looks like and what other observables there were. If it softly lands like a UFO in a movie without blowing stuff around we can conclude something like antigravity exists. If it flies all the way to space and doesn't generate any radiation or chemical waste we could infer there must be some new way to generate power. There might be other observables we could take advantage of too, like gravitational waves, neutrino emissions(if it uses fission or fusion we'll know), radar, optical, thermal It's on the white house lawn, just the sensors that are already there would be pretty informative. And there are a bunch of ways we could probe it non destructively

Then we can combine those observations. It's 20-fucking-25 we can see with more than just our eyes. Whatever effect it has on ambient cellphone networks would be informative

We would already know all those things because aliens are fake and gay and the (((UFOs))) are ours.

Yeah this is the consensus
the science is settled

what would one nut kick from jenny feel like?

depends how hard she kicked?
we know that she was able to move a star while traveling at [math]18c[/math]. I think if she kicked you hard enough your body would evaporate.
