seriously my ivy alma mater had a relatively obscure "professional development" stipend available for kids from households below a certain income (think west va trailer trash and thirdie international kids) that covered clothes, basic basic cosmetic stuff, and some other shit. plus, gym and dining hall were much better stocked than my own (well-regarded) state flagship, so yeah.
