Why didn't the cyanide capsules taken by the Serbian terrorists who assassinated Archduke Franz Fredinand kill them. Why did they just make the assassins vomit?

They maybe didn't synthesize it right. Or they didn't have enough. 1.52 mg/kg of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) could be lethal to 50% of the population. So a 90kg man would need 136.8mg for a 50% chance of death. They probably didn't ingest much due to throwing it up. The human body has recognized cyanide in fruit for millions of years, it is pretty good at rejecting it at this point.
