Can I learn particle physics up to doctorate level but skipping the maths? Is this possible? I want to know the misteries of our universe, but I'm a mathlet

No. You can understand basically everything there is to know about our conceptual understanding of physics by high school. Everything passed that level is modeling - we don’t have a conceptual understanding of most particle physics, we have models that we know are highly accurate for making predictions, but we have no understanding of the underlying conceptual reasons for why the models work - only that they do and what the implications of said models working are.

Understanding how the models work and why their implications work out the way they do requires math. A lot of math.

ok, but what if I pass all the math to chatgpt and ask it to explain in simple terms?

Yes. It’s called experimental physics. Most of their work is either bureaucracy, basic electric engineering, or coding.

Sure you can learn all the essential concepts. Its just like a form of chemistry, some particles come in, combine and others go out. Its the same concept as in chemistry with the classical atoms.
The maths are for calculating reaction rates, how likely is for particles to turn into others.
Example, i can tell you that electrons repel each other so if you shoot an electron at another, they wil repel and some radiation (as light) comes out too. The maths are about calculating the angles, speeds, light wavelengths, etc.

You’ll get a bunch of nonsense back
