regular cheap microfiber cloths are fine
https://www.amazon.com/Xthel-Microfiber-Cleaning-Cloths-Electronics/dp/B07PT3BSBG
but the type that advertise 'antifog' and need to be kept folded in a container are excellent
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R38V1JV

the sprays and waxes do work well, but seem unnessisary
catcrap and the like are really more for shooting scopes

those sort of cloths they give out at the opticians stop working after one use but granted i eat a lot of deep fried or fried food which is adding a lot of grease
ill definitely try the antifog cloth though

Isopropyl alcohol or trichloroethylene. Use either Kim wipes or an ultrasonic cleaner.

I don't use any of that chemical stuff. You might destroy the coating on your glass if you have it. I use the cloth that came with the glass and everything's is squeaky. If I use my t-shirt or anything else, it doesn't work as good

a cotton shirt and some breath
under no circumstance use synthetic stuff unless it's specifically a microfiber cloth for cleaning lenes, you'll likely damage any special coatings (i.e. antireflective coating)

You need optical crown glass lenses. Unless you have a new microfiber cloth every time, polycarbonate, CR, and trivex will streak and scratch every time since almost all materials and dust on plastic will be abrasive.

Place some reagent grade isopropyl alcohol in a large container to a depth of about 1 cm. Suspend the glasses in a metal basket slightly below the top of the container then cover the top tightly with aluminum foil. Place the container on an electric hot plate, and heat the solvent until it boils. The IPA produces a very pure vapor which condenses on, and drips off, the suspended glasses being cleaned, effectively removing grease and dirt. At the end of several minutes turn off the heat and remove the clean glasses while they are still warm.
