That said my first PhD paper is indeed dogshit. Found out halfway through what I did was sort of already done and that my contribution is marginal and the extra thing is something no one cares about.

I only wrote 2 papers in my PhD. One was dogshit, the other was OK. Anyway I'm out of academia now. I couldn't hack it.

thanks fellas. the idea itself was fairly cool and novel but the experimental results not really compelling, but we were stuck with it. just want to push the cunt out the door anywhere i can at this stage. 2nd paper feels more promising so far at least. trying to take the setbacks in stride and to convince myself that it's character building or some shit, idk
