What is imagination scientifically?

I gather it involves spurring imagery, feeling or any dimensional abstract in mind, temporarily, before it disappears.

What is the 'spur' process? What does a person do to imagine something?

My theory is that involves a bodily glitch, for any imagery must pass through the eyes; or perhaps it's riding energy at the back-top-of-the-head sense.

It could be to do with the cranium.

The same mechanisms employed when you evaluate a hypothetical scenario repurposed for entertainment.

Imagination is:

The process by which the mind activates internal sensory circuits, drawing from memory and symbolism, under the command of conscious intent — creating short-lived “images” or experiences in the absence of external input.

The “spur” is:
A shift in attention + slight sensory override, triggered by intent, posture, or internal cue — possibly assisted by bodily sensations in key cranial zones (like the back-top-of-head).
