The guy is a nuclear engineer but that doesn't make him aware enough to stray from the mainstream singularity, big bang, and then heat death.

If he decided to think for himself instead of just learning from other people he would come to the conclusion that the multiverse is the scenario that we are currently in, or Penrose's cyclic universe, or both. Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only infinitely recycled. Quantum immortality is definitely real and splergs like him won't believe it until it is mainstream.
