there are many other places way more interesting and practical for the long term to send people if we wanna colonize them
heres a list in order of how useful they'd be

1. the moon: close to earth to be a first stepping stone in extraterrestrial industrialization, as well as being a staging area for missions elsewhere

2. venus: has a chance of hosting life in its upper atmosphere as well as having a shit ton of carbon on it for terraforming elsewhere or making a shit ton of carbon based materials out, it can also be used as a staging area for developing mercury

3. mercury: the future industrial power house of the inner solar system, close enough to the sun that solar power is practical for industrial uses, its extremely iron and mineral rich

4. Ceres: like earths moon but acting as a launch platform for missions into Jupiter or Saturn, also it supposedly has lots of lithium which is important for fusion

5. phobos and deimos: low gravity mineral deposits which can be mined to build up orbital infrastructure around mars

6. mars: erm its le ebin red planet man...
