could nanomachine be used to form a multipurpose fluid that takes the form of various tools, like drilling machinery, supercomputing clusters, renewable energy systems, or large transportation? all by simply reorienting itself into various components and by harvesting surrounding materials?

yes but how do you keep them out of your body

i would assume they each follow some basic instruction that scales in complexity with the swarm, like having each one do a basic "stay near another unit", but a group can go "don't engage with organic matter" and other stuff as their memory and vision capability scales up, like having each one be a photosensor and processing node if that makes sense. i have poor knowledge about automata but it would be cool if this was possible in the future.

Yes the concept is called smart matter

you don't. You augment your body with them and they will form a second immune system that keeps unauthorized nanomachines out

make a new better body that is impervious to it.

>rearranging itself
Yes
>harvesting surrounding materials
No. They probably only work and are only economical at very cold temperatures. Productivity would still be insane though.

This. Literally everyone working on nanomachines is involved with crypto. The guy who invented the field also invented cryptography

just 3d print your own open source nanomachines
