Science is based on our senses, and augmenting these senses with tools.
But what if the majority of the universe cannot be perceived with our senses and we would need some other sense we don't have to perceive it?
That's what dark matter is.

There's no reason it should.
Just like an ant can't perceive the way we do, we can't perceive the way a higher being could and "see" dark matter.

Think of it this way, for a godlike being (compared to us) dark matter wouldn't be dark matter, but something it "sees" and understands.
