Israel may have been neutral on the ukraine war if not slighty pro russian but they do sell weapons to european armies that need to replentish stocks of stuff they give to ukraine, so this time european leaders are neutral towards israel even if their pops are not.
On top of that the october 7 was a massacre on ground level no argument of "they throw small rockets and israel uses a standing army", they fought on ground level and behaved like drugged out isis schizos this completely gave netanyahu an internal casus belli to go to war.
They also underestimated the idf intelligence and assumed they would fight like in lebanon 2006 even the usa assumed something like this would happen instead the idf get's in fights against a few hamas battalions fucks the entire area and leaves the ruined areas this has been going on for two years now as the idf moved batallions to other fronts in the north were it also was proven to be able to cuck their enemies there.
So hamas is now in a sinking cost fallacy so they can't back off
